Notable Departments
Extrasolar Activities |
---|
Chair: One of the primary motivating factors for the initiation of Project Heimdal was the concerns raised by SCP-1050's research and containment team. As such, Area-179 is one of the primary facilities responsible for relevant operations. As such, the facility has been provided with a direct contact line to the Beholder Prgram's extraterrestrial surveillance network. |
Integration Program |
---|
Chair: Slowly Changing Perspectives Due to Area-179's proximity to Site-322, it has become one of the central facilities of the Integration Program. |
Additional Information
Notable Incidents
To add:
Date: February 29th, 2006
Designation: Event-BRANDO-558
Description: D-691 is transported to SCP-5697-1; after rejecting the offered meal, the subject and SCP-5697 spent the event's duration smoking and discussing their respective pasts.
Additional Notes: Upon return, D-691 displayed a newfound interest in hobbies not previously observed, such as reading and writing.
Date: May 12th, 2012
Designation: Incident-5648-1
Description: SCP-5648 is discovered by Agent Matsumura, and subsequently appeared from a storage closet before the agent later that day.
Date: November 5th, 2013
Designation: Incident-2438-LAPINATE
Description: Instances of SCP-2438-1 bred in Exposure Trial 147 breach containment, spreading to multiple Foundation facilities around the world. Infected rabbits were observed digging burrows in the terrain surrounding Area-179, primarily near the SCP-1179 exclusion zone.
Date: December 24th, 2019
Designation:
Description: SCP-6483 overpowers local reality-anchoring infrastructure, initiating a Nativitatis Event within Site-322 and later proceeding to the neighboring Area-179.
Date: February 29nth, 2020
Designation: Incident I5035-A
Description: SCP-5035 breaches containment using instances of SCP-5035-A to disfigure and mutilate testing personnel in Lab 3F of sublevel-3's D-Wing. The lab's entry door was sealed shut, and re-containment was enabled by the intervention of Edward T. Dune. Object subsequently transferred to sub-level 9C and confined using a Chalmez-Forte Matter Stabilizing Stasis Gate; containment class thus updated to Euclid.
Date: February 16th, 2021
Designation: SCP-5215-1-3
Description: A manifestation of SCP-5215 is detected by Area-179 observatory systems in spite of the anomaly manifesting in a separate county. This prompts facility management to establish a temporary low-level anomaly testing program lasting from February 20th, 2021 to March 2nd, 2022, in order to develop a more clear understanding of how the phenomenon operates.
Date of Incident: April 3rd, 2021
Designation: Incident-5293-01
Description: SCP-5293 breaches containment, causing major collateral damage to Area-179 and unknowingly kills Researcher Sauls.

Date of Incident: December 3rd, 2022
Designation:
